What is the maximum duration of a work visa in the UAE?

The maximum duration of a work visa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) depends on the type of visa and the employer. In general, work visas are valid for a period ranging from six months to three years, but they can be renewed for an additional period.

The most common work visa is the short-term work visa, also known as the temporary residence visa. This visa is valid for a period of three months to two years and can be renewed. It is issued by the employer of the person working in the UAE.

The long-term work visa is also available for highly skilled workers and investors. This visa is valid for a period of five years and can be renewed. It is issued by the UAE Ministry of Interior.

It is important to note that employers are required to renew their employees’ work visas before their expiration date to avoid legal issues. It is also recommended to regularly check the status of your work visa to avoid any interruptions in your authorization to work in the UAE.
